SOCIAL MEDIA WORK

When I was a community engagement coordinator and communications coordinator at the South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless (SARAH), I managed the organization’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), created content calendars, wrote copy, published weekly content, and engaged and responded to SARAH’s audience.

The Movement to House All Youth

During my time as a community engagement coordinator at South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless (SARAH), I helped develop and launch the Movement to House All Youth campaign in 2020. I worked with the SARAH team to form a strategic communications plan for engaging the San Antonio/Bexar County community to be a part of this movement and invite them to learn how they could impact youth homelessness locally. Taking on the creative duties, I made the Movement to House All Youth webpage for the campaign, designed social media posts and layouts, wrote copy for the webpage, for social media, and for the email blasts and the newsletter as well. Within the first two months, 100 people pledged to be a part of the Movement.

2021 Texas Winter Freeze Crisis Response

In February 2021, Texas (as well as other states) was hit with an overwhelming week of snow and thousands of people without electricity or water. As part of the communications team at SARAH, I worked on quickly and constantly posting essential resources/information and urgent needs of agencies serving people experiencing homelessness, created graphics, and engaged with the community

The communications published that week were much needed and the response and engagement from the community blew the team and I away; it made me grateful to know how many San Antonians stepped up to help each other during a time of crisis.

2020 Street Outreach Heroes + Alternative Giving

For this social media event, I was tasked with highlighting San Antonio community members that were selected as 2020 Street Outreach Heroes as well as promoting the Alternative Giving – Change the Way We Give campaign (created by the City of San Antonio and the South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless).

I designed the congratulatory social media graphics, wrote the copy for all posts and graphics, published the content, and engaged with the community.
